As with most natural driftwood Black Spiderwood may release tannins that slightly tint the water yellow or brown. This is completely normal and will fade over time. Pre-boiling the wood can help reduce tannin release.
This wood is naturally buoyant and may float when first introduced. Pre-soaking is recommended to ensure it becomes waterlogged before placement.
Important: Always rinse the wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. For best results, boiling for 1–2 hours to remove tannins and preparing the wood for use.
